Diestel Turkey Ranch - Sonora, CA
When we first met Tim and Joan Diestel in 2000, we knew right away that we’d found our source for thoughtfully raised turkey. Tim’s father Jack had started the Sonora, CA ranch in 1949, using what he’d learned on his Uncle Ernest’s ranch. Uncle Ernest knew that turkeys needed space to roam, healthy feed and time to grow and develop naturally, but most of all they needed care and compassion. Jack, Joan and their kids, were no different. Though we’ve seen multiple generations of Diestels with a variety of passions take the reigns (Jason is dedicated to soil health while nutrition education is Heidi’s mission), they share a passion for mindfully and lovingly raising healthy, happy turkeys.
